Agneepath is a really good scheme but there are some changes that was required or advices should have been taken from army personnel or general public before the launch.
Hey everyone, Welcome back to ShekharArena!
Today we will be talking about the Agneepath scheme, pros and cons and how this scheme can change a lot in defense tools, technology and innovation.
Before we get into Pros and cons of the scheme, let's talk about what is the scheme first. Basically there are 2 ways to join armed forces right now-Permanent commission and short service commission i.e., SSC. While in permanent commission, people work till the age limit of particular army wing they are working for and get ex-serviceman benefits when they retire, in SSC anyone works for a period of 10 years(extended to 14 years in rare cases). There is no pension as such in SSC.
Again there are 2 levels at which anyone can join armed forces- Officer level or Jawaan/Soldier level. Agneepath is now a 3rd mode of recrutiment but it is for soldier level recruitment only. Officer rank recruitment will be done same as before. If anyone is in 17.5-21 years of age, 10th or 12th pass, they can apply under this scheme. Recruitment process will be same as in SSC-same physical and medical exams.
As of now there are no openings for female but will be added soon as they say. First batch recruitment will be starting in 90 days after the announcement and 46000 soldiers will be recruited.
Stipend has been increased when compared to SSC armed forces. While they were getting only Rs 21, 700 in first 4 years, Agniveers will get 30,000 in first year with increment in salary every year. In-hand salary is less but 30% of the salary will be put in Agniveer fund(similar to PF) and same amount will also be contributed by government. They will get a one time amount of 11 lakhs 71 thousand at the end of 4 years, can claim a loan upto 18 lacs and 48 lakhs insurance till the period of service.

DeleteIt was really good to see that you are taking a time to explain both positive and negative of the scheme wherein big media's are simply telecasting about protest only. I am waiting for the next blog to understand why some people are against it.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThere is a communication gap that needs to be bridged. Do share the blog to make more people aware.
I think we should welcome new opportunities. As the same we do admire when it's done in foreign countries. Then, why not us? It's better to play real PubG 🤪.
ReplyDeleteYes, we should but after analyzing pros and cons.
Deletethis is much needed..you have clearly discussed about positive side of the scheme... we are waiting for your next blog to know why people are full of contradiction..and what need to be rectify in this scheme.. i would like to add either that pension scheme should be suspended for all politician and should given to all army officer who had lost their lives during duty..
ReplyDeletethanks!
True. This advice has been in place for a long period of time. Let's see when it's heard.
DeleteaAmed serviced should not be contractual as there is high chances for them to become mercenaries, as well as involvement in anti- social activities.
ReplyDeleteThere are negligible chances of involvement in anti-social activities since they will not have that mindset.
DeleteContractual aspect is still debateable.
I think this agnipath scheme is not good for all those students who have been prepared for army because what about four years after retiring from army.another reason is that the what about his teaching from army after retiring from army he will involve in against the country and anti social activists in this country.so my view is that the agnipath scheme is totally wrong and government should be removed this scheme.
DeleteCareer after 4 years is uncertain but there are negligible chances of them involving in anti-social activities. It's based more on mindset.
DeleteGreat content! You put more clarity on this scheme. Everything has its own prons and cons. May b it would proven beneficial for some people.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm really not in favour for this scheme. Soldiers acts as a protective shield for our country. Our government is doing all this with our force by reducing their income , contract and many more services. The time will come when no young ones will be ready to join the Army. Already there are less ratio in last 3-4 years in new joiners.
Thanks. Read the 2nd part of the blog also.
