Agneepath Scheme | Myths and Facts

Agneepath is a really good scheme but there are some changes that was required or advices should have been taken from army personnel or general public before the launch.

Hey everyone, Welcome back to ShekharArena!

Today we will be talking about the Agneepath scheme, pros and cons and how this scheme can change a lot in defense tools, technology and innovation.

Before we get into Pros and cons of the scheme, let's talk about what is the scheme first. Basically there are 2 ways to join armed forces right now-Permanent commission and short service commission i.e., SSC. While in permanent commission, people work till the age limit of particular army wing they are working for and get ex-serviceman benefits when they retire, in SSC anyone works for a period of 10 years(extended to 14 years in rare cases). There is no pension as such in SSC.

Again there are 2 levels at which anyone can join armed forces- Officer level or Jawaan/Soldier level. Agneepath is now a 3rd mode of recrutiment but it is for soldier level recruitment only. Officer rank recruitment will be done same as before. If anyone is in 17.5-21 years of age, 10th or 12th pass, they can apply under this scheme. Recruitment process will be same as in SSC-same physical and medical exams.

As of now there are no openings for female but will be added soon as they say. First batch recruitment will be starting in 90 days after the announcement and 46000 soldiers will be recruited.

Stipend has been increased when compared to SSC armed forces. While they were getting only Rs 21, 700 in first 4 years, Agniveers will get 30,000 in first year with increment in salary every year. In-hand salary is less but 30% of the salary will be put in Agniveer fund(similar to PF) and same amount will also be contributed by government. They will get a one time amount of 11 lakhs 71 thousand at the end of 4 years, can claim a loan upto 18 lacs and 48 lakhs insurance till the period of service.

Tenure of service is 4 years and after this period only 25% candidates will be selected for further service in any of three wings. Further to this, there will be a 3-year skill-based bachelor degree. All the three wings of armed forces have signed an MOU with IGNOU for this degree. 50% weightage will be on technical and non-technical skills and 50% on subjects such as History, political science and economics.

Till now everything seems great and advantageous-people will get jobs, more salary, benefits, one-time amount, bachelor's degree and preference in  other jobs. Then why are people protesting? Why is a big debate happening all over the country over this scheme? We will talk about the negatives in an upcoming blog. Till then, stay connected.

Let us know what you think in comments section about the scheme.

    1. There are negligible chances of involvement in anti-social activities since they will not have that mindset.

      Contractual aspect is still debateable.

    2. I think this agnipath scheme is not good for all those students who have been prepared for army because what about four years after retiring from army.another reason is that the what about his teaching from army after retiring from army he will involve in against the country and anti social activists in this country.so my view is that the agnipath scheme is totally wrong and government should be removed this scheme.

    3. Career after 4 years is uncertain but there are negligible chances of them involving in anti-social activities. It's based more on mindset.

  6. Great content! You put more clarity on this scheme. Everything has its own prons and cons. May b it would proven beneficial for some people.
But I'm really not in favour for this scheme. Soldiers acts as a protective shield for our country. Our government is doing all this with our force by reducing their income , contract and many more services. The time will come when no young ones will be ready to join the Army. Already there are less ratio in last 3-4 years in new joiners.

Adheen-The Dependent | Not a Movie Review

"Ice, that is brittle can be shattered, while water flows and adapts" . This means 'टूटता कठोर है ,कोमल नहीं'. Have you ever thought why most of our parents want us to guide throughout our childhood and teenage till the time we stand on our feet? Think about this and let  me know in comments. Vacations and Parents I think dependency is a relative term, you may be dependent on someone in one context, independent in other. To all the people living away from their homes, please respond on these two questions? 1. When was the last time you visited your home? Here, home means the place where your parents live. 2. If you visited in last 6 months, did you sit still with them and talked about how life is going, what problems are they facing, are there any health issues or anything else without peeping in your phone? You think they are fine, but wait they are not. Adheen, a short film directed by Yash Verma talks about these intricacies. Rajendra(Sanjay Mishra) fre...

Solitude and Loneliness

Don't you think the root cause of most of our problems is the underlying loneliness that most of us experience in our daily lives today. Let's analyse what is the reason behind and derive some practical solution to this. Basically there are two situations i.e, loneliness and Solitude. In loneliness, you are alone and worried about having no one by your side while solitude is experiencing a whole new world when you are alone. You experience happiness when you are alone. You don't need a second person to be happy. The root cause of our emptiness is that our foundation for living is based on lies. We are stuck in the loop of lie spread by ourselves only and continue exhibiting dual personality. Actually we try to complete our emptiness through other things, actions and relationships (people)- don't we? As a consequence, we become more dependable on those things, actions or people. This dependency could be at physical, psychological, financial or even at mental level....

Bihar and the Education System | Bihar mein bahar h

He was completely demoralized, analysing where did he go wrong. Was his preparation not apt enough to crack the interview? Didn't he had the technical knowledge, the profile required- all this was whirling in his head, while he sat in disguise with a cup of tea. Welcome back to Shekhar Arena!  Hope you are doing fine. Today, I will tell you a story- a story of our friends, students and the teachers! There is this friend of mine who was attending an Off-Campus placement drive of a reputed MNC. He did his graduation in computer applications from a renowned institute of Bihar. 6 out of 49 students cleared the aptitude test. There he met another guy about whom he said later that guy was technically sound than him. This guy did his graduation from same renowned institute, located in another city of our state. The technical round was a WhatsApp video interview and the interviewer asked scenario based questions. He was dumbstruck, didn't understand the questions well-answers of...
