Expiry of Water | Solutions

According to a Reuters report, we use 40 billion plastic bottles every month,1.3 billion every day,54.9 M every hour and 1 M(10 lakhs) bottles every minute. Assume how fast these plastic-borne diseases can spread among us. Welcome back to Shekhar Arena! In the last blog, we talked about how aggressively we drink water in plastic bottles and their adverse impacts. If you haven't read the blog, link is in comments. We will be discussing about what feasible solutions we do have to tackle this issue. You might be wondering what other option do we have. Almost all water bottles readily available in market are made up of plastic. What can we do? Carry our own water bottle. What if I tell you this water is expired? Does water expire? There is no expiry of water but the plastic bottle in which it is packed can cause a lot of problems for us. Assuming how? Let us explain. What these plastic bottles does to water is wrong. From getting produced in factories, delivered to markets and till the time we consume this water, it takes approximately 2-3 months. Water stays in these bottles for this long time. Experiments show that this water becomes acidic in nature . This is indicated by PH value. What's PH value? PH i.e., Potential of Hydrogen is a scale used to determine the nature i.e., whether something is acidic, basic or neutral.  PH value of normal water-6.5-8.5 This is slightly alkaline and mostly neutral. PH value of this bottled water: 4, acidic in nature and consuming acidic wat...
